University of Groningen – Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC) PhD Program - dosimetry in radionuclide therapy

Overview

The University of Groningen (UG), in partnership with the Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC), invites prospective PhD candidates from China to apply for the upcoming UG–CSC PhD Scholarship Program (2026 intake). This joint program will award about 70 fully funded PhD scholarships to outstanding students.

We invite prospective candidates in medical physics and related fields to collaboratively develop a PhD research proposal with Dr. Oleksandra V. Ivashchenko, who would act as the prospective supervisor. The proposed research will be carried out at the Department of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG) — one of the largest and leading nuclear medicine departments in Europe.

The research aims to improve patient-specific dosimetry and contribute to the development of quantitative tools for personalized treatment planning in nuclear medicine.

Dr. Ivashchenko, Medical Physics Expert in Radiology and Nuclear Medicine and Assistant Professor at UMCG, working on imaging applications in nuclear medicine and is seeking to expand this collaboration to the dosimetry domain. You will be joining a growing team of 4 other PhD students and a postdoc, working undre Oleksandra's guidance in the filed of personalized dosimetry.
