Publication Date: Aug 15th, 2025 19:52, Category: EFOMP Announcements

The European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA) is currently investigating the implementation of EU regulatory frameworks pertaining to medical devices emitting ionising radiation. The goal is to better understand the experiences and challenges of actors in the medical field
concerning the implementation of the Medical Devices Regulation and Directive, the Basic Safety Standards Directive (BSSD).

HaDEA aims to use this study to collect information on good and bad practices which can help the sector better navigate the implementation of the legal frameworks covering medical devices emittingionising radiation. The study is being conducted by the independent policy consultancy, Technopolis Group, in cooperation with the European Federation of Medical Physicists (EFOMP).

As part of this study, Technopolis and partners have conducted a survey and interviews that several of you have already participated in. They are now planning a series of focus groups at the end of summer to develop further understanding of stakeholders’ challenges and concerns as well as collect
suggestions for future actions that can be undertaken by the European Commission to improve implementation of the relevant regulatory framework. Our NMO members are invited you to participate and share your views during one of these sessions:

A dedicated session will be held for Medical Physics Experts on Wednesday, September
    3rd, 13:30 - 15:30.
A session with other medical actors on Friday, September 5th, 13:30 - 15:30

The sessions are held online and no prior preparation is required. If you are interested in joining  please contact samira_md@technopolis-group.com  or amber.van.der.graaf@technopolis-group.com  to participate.
