Publication Date: Mar 9th, 2019 09:13, Category: EFOMP Announcements
The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), Technical Committee 45 "Nuclear Instrumentation" is revising the International Standard IEC 61145 "Calibration and use of ionization chamber systems for assay of radionuclides". IEC 61145 was not intended for medical applications, although medical applications are not explicitly excluded from the scope.
This survey is addressed to producers and users of ionization chambers or radionuclide calibrators.
The survey has the following objectives:
- To assess the current use of IEC 61145 and the impact of a revision;
- To collect suggestions for improvement;
- To assess that similar documents for medical applications such as IEC TR 61948-4 and IEC 61303 are fit for purpose and cover all the needs.
This survey was developed by the project leader and experts appointed by IEC/TC 45 for the revision of IEC 61145.
The survey will be open until 31 March 2019. Survey
