The project “SAMIRA study on the implementation of the Euratom and the EU legal bases with respect to the therapeutic uses of radiopharmaceuticals,” nicknamed SIMPLERAD, is funded under tender no. ENER/D3/2021/253-3, with EFOMP being a key partner in the project. The project officially started on 1st May 2022 and the kick-off meeting took place on the 23rd of May 2022.
Under work package 2 of this project, it aims to carry out a survey on the implementation of the relevant European legal requirements with respect to therapeutic nuclear medicine.
Toward this end, a preliminary survey of 12 questions has been designed using Jotform to guide the subsequent direction and content of WP2 and is proposed to be distributed through the consortium’s pre-established network of contacts, i.e., the national delegates and societies of EANM, EFOMP and HERCA. The questionnaire seeks to identify relevant government/health authorities and their associated roles in reference to regulation of radiation protection and pharmaceutical practice. Using this information, a database of contacts and regulators with associated legislation will be constructed in time for the distribution of the main survey during Q3 2022.
The preliminary analysis results will be presented as part of the project’s first progress report to the EC. The creation and continued support of such a database will facilitate an ongoing inter-comparison of national approaches and member states, aid in the formation of actions to be recommended and also constitute a valuable source for the workshop to be held before the end of the project.
We would appreciate your support and ask if you could please respond by 16 June 2022.
The pre-survey allows for answers from the EU27 as well as Norway, Switzerland, the UK and US.
