EFOMP at the International Conference in Radiation Protection in Medicine 2017 ΙΑΕΑ

The third International Conference in Radiation Protection in Medicine took place in Vienna, Austria 11-15 December 2017 following those held in Malaga, Spain (2001) and Bonn, Germany (2012). The conference reviewed actions and developments since the Bonn conference, with a focus on progress in response to its Call for Action. The Bonn Call for Action was created at a 2012 IAEA-organized international conference in Bonn. The Call for Action highlighted the 10 actions to improve radiation protection in medicine in the 2012-2022 decade.The 2017 Conference reviewed the overall approach to the implementation of these actions and looked at how international organizations and other stakeholders harmonized their actions for better impact. EFOMP was represented by Prof John Damilakis, EFOMP President and Dott Marco Brambilla , EFOMP Vice President.
Three invited talks have been given during the following sessions

- Radiation protection of patients, staff and the public in diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine and hybrid imaging session "Personalized dosimetry in diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine" dott. Marco Brambilla
- Radiation protection in medical exposures of children and pregnant women session "How safe are x-ray imaging and nuclear medicine in pregnancy?" Prof. John Damilakis
