International Conference on Radiation Protection in Medicine
Start Date: Dec 11th, 2017 00:00
End Date: Dec 15th, 2017 00:00
Location: IAEA - Vienna, Austria
The use of ionizing radiation in medicine is well established, and has resulted in tremendous benefit to humankind in diagnosing and treating diseases. While the medical benefits are unquestionable, there is growing evidence of unintended and unnecessary use of radiation in medicine, creating the need for stronger radiation protection in medicine. For this purpose, the Bonn Call for Action was created at a 2012 IAEA-organized international conference in Bonn. The Call for Action highlighted the 10 actions to improve radiation protection in medicine in the 2012-2022 decade.
The International Conference on Radiation Protection in Medicine: Achieving Change in Practice will review actions and developments since the Bonn conference, with a focus on progress in response to its Call for Action.
EFOMP will be represented by Prof John Damilakis, EFOMP President and Dott Marco Brambilla, EFOMP Vice President
