Radiation Oncology Medical physicist @ Palmerston North Hospital, New Zealand

The Radiation Oncology department of the Palmerston North Hospital is seeking a highly motivated Radiation Oncology Medical Physicist to join our team of seven physicists, two physics registrars and an engineer. The Department has four Siemens linear accelerators with 160MLC, EPI, cone beam and respiratory gating capability, a multi-slice CT simulator soon to be replaced, a superficial x-ray unit, an onsite engineering workshop. Treatment planning uses CMS XiO & Monaco, and patients are managed with a Mosaiq OIS. The next few years the treatment planning system and most of the equipment will be replaced to create a Radiation Oncology Department for the future. The successful applicant will participate in a broad range of clinical physics activities, including quality assurance programme, maintenance, commissioning of equipment, development of treatment techniques and training and education of other staff. The employment contract provides support to international and national conferences each year for continuing education.
