The ESR is once again providing a live streaming and on-demand service for ECR 2017, under its new name ECR Online, in an effort to bring the ECR to everyone. More than 1,500 presentations are being broadcast live via ECR Online, with Facebook and Twitter options integrated into the web interface to provide a fully interactive experience.

All events will be held in the meeting room M14,  kindly hosted by ECR2017
EFOMP Working Group for quality control in CBCT: To convey the final approval of the guideline by ESTRO and IAEA. The next steps to complete the initial goals of the group, which deal with the unification of quality control in CT and CBCT, will be also discussed. The members of the group will be happy to join other interested attendees to discuss the present and the future together.
COCIR - EFOMP: During this meeting a Memorandum of Understanding will be signed between the two organizations.
The two parties commit to promote constant collaboration and exchange, to foster training of medical physicists on the best use of new equipment an technology in radiation imaging an therapy and to reduce radiation exposure of patients and users. To this purpose, perspectives of future collaboration between the two organizations in the field of Education and Training will be discussed during the meeting.

ECR Physics in Radiology Subcommittee - EFOMP Meeting:
Meeting to discuss proposals for future ECR sessions, feedback from the ECR Programme Planning Committee and other topics related to ECR program for Medical Physicists.

EFOMP Working Group Mammo: The joint European Federation of Organizations for Medical Physics (EFOMP) and American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) Task Group on developing a new universal breast dosimetry method will have an open meeting for all interested physicists, and others, attending ECR in Vienna, to present and seek feedback on the aim, work plan and current status of the group.

New DIRAC Page

The new DIRAC web page is available with a new web interface and visual features. Users can view and upload information on individual radiotherapy centres and also data summaries for countries, regions and for the entire world. While the content is the same, the new DIRAC website is more detailed and collaborative in terms of data analysis and interactive maps.

Announcing European School for Medical Physics Experts - Prague 2017

Dear all,

We would like to inform you for the calendar of the European School of Medical Physics Experts 2017 (ESMPE).
The attendance of the School is an excellent opportunity for Medical Physicists to improve their skills, either helping them to achieve Medical Physics Expert (MPE) status or for existing MPEs to use their CPD points.  

European School for Medical Physics Experts - Prague 2017.


Winter edition "Imaging in Radiotherapy" , January 26 – January 28, 2017. The school will be aimed at advanced tasks connected with Imaging in Radiotherapy. The school will cover the main physics aspects of the different imaging technologies used to support target volume definition, patient positioning and response to treatment assessment, during radiotherapy. Summer edition "Magnetic Resonance Imaging: Advanced clinical applications - Safety aspects - Quality controls" July 6 - July 8, 2017. The school will be aimed at advanced tasks connected with Magnetic Resonance Imaging. The school will cover the main physics aspects of the MRI technology and will focus on Safety aspects involved in the use of MRI and Quality controls of MRI equipments.  The event will be accredited by EBAMP (European Board of Accreditation in Medical Physics). http://www.ebamp.eu/

During the ESMPE Summer School (July 6 - July 8, 2017), the EFOMP Examination Board (EEB) will organize its 1st examinations for
• the European Diploma of Medical Physics (EDMP) in the field of ‘Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology’
• the European Attestation Certificate to those who have reached the level of the Medical Physics Expert (EACMPE) in the field of ‘Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology’.
